Moving House And Moving Food

There will probably still be food in the fridge when it comes time for you to move house, even if you've been carefully avoiding grocery shopping in the weeks leading up to the big day. Since there may not be time to eat or give away all the food before moving, take the time to decide what you need to keep and what you can throw away. Anything in the pantry or freezer which has already expired will be the first to go, followed by any other unwanted food items. After you sort through what can be thrown away, try and eat as much of your other kitchen goods as possible. This will save you having to buy takeaway during the packing process and you won't have to deal with the hassles of taking it with you. For items you definitely want to take, make sure jars and other glass objects are packed carefully, and place your freezer items in a cooler bag with some freezer blocks or ice. Stack frozen items into the moving truck last, so that they can be quickly unloaded again at your destination.
